This is seriously the Best Vegan Caesar Dressing! I have used this dressing in multiple recipes, but I’ve never given it its own moment to shine. This is the dressing I make when I want to impress a non-vegan crowd. No one ever believes that it is vegan! You can use this in a classic salad, wrap or on a sandwich – be sure to check back tomorrow when I share a new sammie recipe to use it with!

Step One: Ingredients

The ingredients for this caesar dressing are very similar to a traditional caesar dressing recipe. We’re just making a couple of small smart swaps to make it vegan!

Here is what you need:

  • vegan mayoall vegan mayo is not made the same and this one is my fave!
  • capers
  • caper brine
  • lemon juice
  • dijon mustard
  • fresh parsley – or sub dried parsley
  • garlic
  • salt & pepper

Let’s take a quick second and talk about capers. I know that capers are not everyone’s cup of tea. But there is NO SWAP for them in this recipe!

But, just like you can’t tell there are anchovies in a traditional caesar dressing, you can’t tell there are capers in this vegan version! They just add the perfect salty bite. So, don’t be afraid of adding them.

Step Two: Blend

To blend the dressing your best options are a small blender, an immersion blender or a food processor. You don’t want to use a full size blender unless you plan on making a huge batch of this – it will just get stuck at the bottom.

Add everything to your blender of choice and blend until smooth. Give it a taste and adjust everything to your liking.

I give some ranges for the acidic ingredients and the garlic, because this is totally up to your taste preferences. I like alllll the garlic and alllll the acid. But, adjust to what you like!

Step Three: Serve

Now, it is time to eat this up! And there are plenty of fun ways to enjoy this recipe. You can keep it simple and toss it with romaine, vegan parmesan and some croutons. A classic caesar salad is always a good idea.

Tips & Tricks

For a more acidic dressing use the full amount of mustard and caper brine – this is how I like to make mine!

This dressing can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days.

If you use fresh parsley your dressing will have a light green hue to it.
