The love I have for these Tempeh Bacon Caesar Salad Sandwiches is unmatched. They are so freaking good! Way better than anything you could get out. The keys to making this sandwich are simple: make the sandwich rolls into garlic bread, make my vegan Caesar dressing from scratch, crisp up the tempeh bacon. The combination is delicious!

Step One: Make the Tempeh Bacon

This isn’t the first time you’ve seen this tempeh bacon on TSV. It is my go-to protein for sandwiches. It has the perfect smoky flavor and crunch.

I buy mine pre-made, but there are recipes out there if you want to make tempeh bacon from scratch.

I like to cut the tempeh bacon in half (because they come in super long strips). Spray a skillet with oil and add the tempeh bacon. It only take a couple minutes per side to brown the tempeh.

Step Two: Prep the Bread & Dressing

One of the reasons this sandwich is so tasty is the bread. Not the type of bread you use, but the fact that we’re making it into garlic bread!

Cut the rolls in half and spread some vegan butter on each side. Sprinkle with garlic powder and a tiny bit of garlic salt. Toast until browned. Trust me, you won’t want your sandwich bread served any other way after this.

Yesterday, I shared my recipe for vegan Caesar dressing. It is one of my all-time favorite dressings. AND, it is super easy to make.

Once the dressing is ready, chop up some romaine and add some of the dressing (not all of it). Toss until coated and set aside.

Step Three: Assemble & Serve

Now, it is time to bring it all together. Take a roll and spread some of the leftover dressing on one half. Top with a healthy portion of the romaine.

Layer on tempeh bacon and sprinkle with vegan parmesan. Cut in half and you are ready to eat!

I cannot express in words how amazing these sandwiches these are! You just have to try them for yourself!!

Tips & Tricks

You probably won’t use all of the Caesar dressing. You can store any leftovers in the fridge for up to 5 days.

These are best served right away so the romaine doesn’t wilt. If you want to prep them ahead of time, I would just put the romaine on the sandwich without the dressing. Drizzle on the dressing as you eat.

Notes

  • If you can, try not to cut the rolls all the way in half. This will help them stay together when you assemble.
  • You probably won’t use all of the Caesar dressing. You can store any leftovers in the fridge for up to 5 days.
  • These are best served right away so the romaine doesn’t wilt. If you want to prep them ahead of time, I would just put the romaine on the sandwich without the dressing. Drizzle on the dressing as you eat.
