If you want a recipe that will have everyone at your party coming back for more, then you need to try this Quick French Onion Dip! It is seriously an eat-it-with-a-spoon kind of dip! You get the perfect onion & garlic flavor with a creamy, dairy-free base. No one will know this one is vegan. Be warned…it is addicting!
Here’s what you need
Ingredients
- vegan yogurt – unsweetened
- vegan mayo
- garlic
- Better Than Bouillon No Chicken Base
- apple cider vinegar
- minced dried onion
- onion powder
- fresh chives
Equipment
- None, really. Just grab a bowl and a spoon!

Steps
Step 1: Make the Dip
There really isn’t too much to this recipe. We’re gonna make the dip and we’re gonna eat the dip. That’s pretty much it.

All you need to do is throw everything in a bowl and mix it up. Be sure to really mix to ensure that the bouillon mixes in. You don’t want to have any chunks in there – it will be a super salty bite!
Be sure to give the dip a taste to see if you want to adjust any of the seasonings.

Step 2: Eat the Dip
If you can resist eating all of the dip right away, then I would pop this in the fridge to chill for at least an hour. Chilling the dip just enhances the flavors even more.

But, you can also serve this right away. I have to force myself to cover it up and put it in the fridge so I don’t eat it all in one sitting.
I like to serve this with some ruffles, but you can choose any chip or veggie!

Tips & Tricks
You want to use a bouillon paste, not a bouillon cube. That way it will mix into the dip well.
This will keep in the fridge for 3-5 days, but it is best served the first day when the garlic is really fresh.
You can sub 1 teaspoon of garlic powder for the fresh garlic.

Will the veggie better than bouillon paste work? Or does it have to be the no chicken kind?
I haven’t tried it with the veggie one, but it should work perfectly fine too!
