I am SOOOOOO excited to share this recipe with you today! English muffin pizzas were one of my favorite snacks as a kid. And I can confirm, they are just as tasty as an adult! 🤗 You have so many options when it comes to making these little guys. Make them in the oven or the air fryer. Switch out the toppings. Use pesto in place of marinara. So many swaps and tasty combos!

    Are English Muffins vegan???

Let's get this out of the way first. There are plenty of english muffins that are vegan-friendly! Just go to your local store and start reading labels. I have been able to find vegan english muffins at Target, Trader Joe's, Whole Foods and my local grocery stores.

It might take a couple tries to find one without any dairy products, but I PROMISE, they are out there!

How to AVOID making Vegan English Muffin Pizzas soggy!!!

Now, you might have had an english muffin pizza in the past and had an issue with soggy bread. I have a couple of tricks to help out with this.

First, if you can use whole wheat english muffins, do that. Whole wheat just holds up so much better and keeps a better shape!

Second, whether you use the oven or the air fryer, toast the english muffins on their own before adding any toppings. This will give the toppings a crispier surface to sit on.

Lastly, have all of your toppings prepped before starting. This will allow you to work quickly. The longer the toppings sit on the english muffins before going in the oven, the more time they will have to soak in.

What toppings to use on Vegan English Muffin Pizzas?

You have so many options when it comes to toppings. BUT, I suggest you try out my vegan cheese hack no matter what toppings you add. I first introduced this technique when I made my Ultimate Vegan Lasagna recipe, and it continues to baffle me how great it works as a melted cheese replacement!

What's the trick? Combining vegan cream cheese and non-dairy half & half. When combined then baked, this creates the perfect melted "cheese" topping. If you have trouble finding the half & half, just take a look at the coffee creamer section and look for a non-dairy, unsweetened creamer. You can also use non-dairy milk, but you will want to use less, since it will be more watery.

After you add some marinara and my vegan cheese combo, top these off with any of your favorite toppings. I used vegan pepperoni (find them here) and some serrano peppers. But you can add mushrooms, olives, vegan sausage, bell peppers, onions. Lots of options 🎉

    Notes

*Check out the blog post to read about where I typically buy vegan english muffins. I suggest using whole wheat, if possible, since they hold their shape better.
**You can typically find this in the coffee creamer section of the store. If you need to use non-dairy milk instead, only use 1 tbsp.
