This Pesto Pull-Apart Christmas Tree is the best holiday appetizer! Filled with vegan pesto and topped with garlic butter.

Are you ready for another cute Christmas appetizer? Because this Pesto Pull-Apart Christmas Tree is a good one! It is easy, festive and totally delicious. Dough is shaped into a tree, layered with vegan pesto and twisted to make easy pull-apart bread. This will impress your guests!
Step One: Prep the Dough
To keep this recipe simple, I used pre-made pizza dough. You can find it at most grocery stores in the fridge, freezer or deli section. I usually get mine at Trader Joe’s!
Let the dough come to room temperature for 30 minutes. This will make the dough easier to work with.

Step Two: Assemble
Roll out one half of the dough until it is roughly the size of your baking sheet. Place on the prepared baking sheet. Roll out the other half of dough so its is about the same size. Gently place on top of the other piece of dough.
Use a sharp knife to cut the dough into a triangle. Gently remove the top piece of dough. Add the pesto to the bottom piece of dough and spread it to the edges. Place the other piece of dough back on top.

Starting at the bottom, cut 1″ strips on each side of the tree, leaving about 1″ of dough intact down the center. Twist the strips.
Combine the melted butter, a pinch of garlic powder & garlic salt and the parsley in a small bowl. Brush it over the tree. Place in the oven and bake for 20 minutes.

Step Three: Serve
Remove the tree from the oven and top it with vegan parmesan, more parsley, basil & flakey salt. I like to serve this with warm marinara on the side – perfect for dipping.
This is a cute Christmas appetizer that your friends and family will love!

Delicious and fancy but easy! The most challenging part was rolling out the pizza dough (mine was very stretchy and wouldn’t stay put), but it turned out beautiful and tree shaped in the end.
So glad you loved it Mandy!
