steps

step 1: roll out the dough

The first thing we need to do is let the dough come to room temperature.

Add some flour to a clean surface and place the dough on it. Let it sit for about 60 minutes – this will make it easier to roll out.

Roll out the dough and use the cookie cutter to make 8 Christmas trees – you can re-roll the dough as needed.

step 2: assemble

At this point you can assemble this quickly – add some sauce, cheese & pepperoni to each tree.

But, if you want to make these extra cute, you can do what I did and make some little pepperoni ornaments. Such a small detail, but I think it makes them a little extra. I used a glass straw to cut them out – it was the only thing I could find with a small enough circle.

Once the trees are assembled pop them in the oven.

step 3: serve

You will know the trees are done when the crust is browned and the cheese is melted.

I like to finish them off with a little fresh parsley – just to get that nice green color on them.

These can be served right away or reheated right before serving!
