Step up your sandwiches with this Vegan Pesto Mayo. Fresh basil, walnuts, garlic & olive oil are whipped up with some vegan mayo to make this tasty spread.
Has there ever been that one thing in your food life you can’t live without? I’m 99.9% sure mine might be pesto.
It’s just so flavorful – with the freshness of the basil, the earthiness of the nuts and don’t get me started on the garlic.
Its just goes so well on everything. Got a warm bowl of pasta? Throw a couple dollops of pesto in there and you have a delish meal ready in 10 minutes. Got a loaf of french bread? Dip it in some fresh pesto for an appetizer everyone will love.
And now, we’re taking it to the next level by adding a little vegan mayo to the mix to make the ultimate sandwich spread.
Mayo gives pesto a tang that just screams – “PUT ME ON A SANDWICH!”
This recipe is going to change your life. Well, let’s not get too crazy. But it is ridiculously tasty.

Vegan Pesto Mayo
- 1 cup fresh basil packed
- 1 cup walnuts*
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1/3 cup vegan mayo
- salt and pepper to taste
Add the first five ingredients to a food processor and blend on high until smoothie and combined, scraping down the sides as needed.
Add salt and pepper, and pulse to combine. Taste and adjust seasonings as needed.
Add to your favorite sandwich and enjoy!
*For a smoother texture, use 1/2 cup of walnuts instead. I wanted this to be a really nutty and chunky pesto.
