I know it is the beginning of the week and we’re supposed to be talking about a fresh, healthy start.

But here at TSV we like breaking the rules.

And today we’re making something overly indulgent and decadent.

Creamy Vegan Jalapeño Onion Dip

This dip is so many things.

It’s tasty.

It’s rich.

And it’s the perfect appetizer for your next party.

Imagine onion soup mixed together with a cream cheese based dip. Oh…and there are some jalapeños in the mix.

Yes, it is as good as it sounds.

Fun fact, most onion dip mixes are vegan. Who knew? And this is the secret ingredient that makes this recipe incredibly quick and easy.

I used this dry mix, which I found at my local grocery store. I’m sure other brands have similar ingredients, so just be sure to check the label.

Note: You can totally make the dry onion dip mix from scratch. Hop on google and there are a ton of recipes out there. I just wanted to go super simple. So do what’s best for you.

And we have talked about vegan cream cheese a ton on TSV. From my Vegan Jalapeño Cream Sauce to my Vegan Spinach Artichoke Dip, vegan cream cheese is one of my favorite ingredients to use. My go-to is the Trader Joe’s brand, but if you don’t have access to a Trader Joe’s, my second favorite brand to use is Tofutti.

As for vegan mayo. I’m still partial to Hampton Creek. I feel like it has the best texture and flavor.

Once you have everything combined it takes a trip to the oven. The top gets crispy and brown and sooooo freakin’ delicious. Once it has cooled slightly (we don’t need any burned tongues), serve it up with toasted baguette slices.

And…welcome to heaven.
