Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Spread the tater tots in an even layer on the baking sheet and cook according to the package instructions (see notes).
While the tots are cooking, add all of the other ingredients to a large mixing bowl. Stir until combined, taste and adjust the seasonings if needed. Place in the fridge.
Pull the tater tots out of the oven and use a flat object to smash them - you can use a thick glass cup, measuring cup or even place another baking sheet on top of the tots.
Add the smashed tots to the mixing bowl with the dressing and toss to combine. Serve right away (see notes).

My tater tot bag said to cook them for 20 minutes. I ended up cooking them for 30 to make sure they were extra crispy!
This is best served right away - if you put it in the fridge the tots will get soggy and absorb the dressing.
